Vouchers now have their own monthly cap of 3,000 bonus points, separate from flights and hotels. It applies the same way to every card, from Infinia to Regalia. The spend before you hit that cap is Rs. 22,500 on an Infinia, Rs. 45,000 on a Diners Black Metal, and Rs. 30,000 on a Regalia. Buy above those amounts in a month, and the rest earns at base rate. The fix is simple: buy your single biggest voucher at the start of the month, keep your accelerated-earn window intact, and pay the rest directly at the merchant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The overall monthly reward cap on SmartBuy has not changed. Your Infinia still earns up to 15,000 points a month. Your Regalia still caps at 4,000. Those numbers are the same. <\/p>\n\n\n\n What changed is that vouchers now sit in their own sub-bucket inside that cap. Before 1 July 2026, the monthly cap was one shared pool. You could spend it all on flights, all on vouchers, or split it any way you liked. Now voucher bonus points stop at 3,000. The rest of your cap only works on other SmartBuy categories. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The 3,000-point voucher cap is the same across all HDFC premium cards. An Infinia holder and a Regalia holder now earn the same voucher maximum each month. Each card earns at a different rate on vouchers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Here is the logic behind these numbers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Infinia:<\/strong> The 5X on SmartBuy is a bonus of 4X over your base rate. Divide the 3,000-point bonus cap by that 4X rate (20 points per Rs. 150). You hit the cap at Rs. 22,500 of voucher spend. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Diners Black Metal \/ BizBlack Metal \/ Diners Black:<\/strong> These cards earn 3X on SmartBuy vouchers. The bonus part is 2X (10 points per Rs. 150). The 3,000-point cap is reached at Rs. 45,000 of vouchers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Regalia Gold \/ Regalia \/ BizPower:<\/strong> Base earn is 5 points per Rs. 200. Infinia and Diners Black Metal have high daily limits, so they can earn the full 3,000 in a single day. Diners Black caps at 2,500 points a day. Regalia, BizPower & Diners Privilege have their daily caps at 2,000. So these two cannot earn a full month’s voucher bonus in one day, which is why their daily spend window is smaller. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Picture this. You have been putting off a new washing machine. Price: Rs. 65,000. You have an Infinia. The old playbook was simple. Buy a Rs. 65,000 Flipkart voucher on SmartBuy, earn 5X on the full amount, then pay with the voucher. A healthy chunk of your monthly cap, used well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n From 1 July 2026, only Rs. 22,500 of that purchase earns at the fast voucher rate. After that, the bonus is gone. The rest earns at your base Infinia rate. On a Rs. 65,000 buy, that is a real drop in the points you take home. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The workaround: buy Rs. 22,500 in vouchers on SmartBuy to use up the bonus cap. Then pay the remaining Rs. 42,500 straight on Flipkart with your card. You still earn base points on the balance. Up to 12,000 bonus points a month from vouchers are now off the table.
